- Account Information: Name, email address, and user ID when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
- Financial Data: Transaction records, categories, amounts, dates, and notes that you enter into the app. This data is stored locally on your device and synced to iCloud (Apple Sign In) or Firebase (Google/Email Sign In).
- Receipt Images: Photos of receipts you scan are processed locally for OCR text extraction. Images are not stored on our servers.
- Device Identifiers: Advertising ID (IDFA) used by our third-party advertising partner (Google AdMob) for displaying personalized ads.
3. How We Use Your Information
- App Functionality: To authenticate your account, sync your financial data across devices, and provide core app features.
- Third-Party Advertising: Google AdMob uses device identifiers and usage data to display relevant advertisements to free-tier users.
- Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be used to improve app performance and features.

5. App Tracking Transparency
On iOS 14 and later, we request your permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. This permission is used by Google AdMob to serve personalized advertisements. You can change this permission at any time in your device Settings > Privacy > Tracking.
If you deny tracking permission, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Financial data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
- For Apple Sign In users, data is synced via iCloud (CloudKit) to your private iCloud account.
- For Google/email users, data is synced via Firebase Firestore, secured by Firebase Authentication.
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as you have an active account. When you sign out of the app, all locally stored data is deleted from your device. Cloud data (iCloud/Firebase) is managed through the respective platforms' data management tools.

- Access your personal data stored in the app
- Delete your data by signing out (local data is wiped) or deleting your account
- Opt out of personalized advertising via iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking

9. Children's Privacy
Finance: FinanceTracker is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
